The first project of the building of the hospital was made in 1858 by architect, N.Karchevs'kyi. The project was corrected in 1862 by architect, E. Mikvits.
It collapsed in 1868, because of low quality of works; the arches in the corridors were restored in 1872.
The buiding is stone, three-storied, T-shaped in plan, plastered. The floors are wooden and joist, there are arches in the corridors of the side branches on the first and second floors. There is a round in plan room in the centre of the middle part of the building, which is symmetrically surrounded with two service rooms, rectangular in plan. In three side wings, outgoing from the central part, the system of planning is corridor with two-sided location of rooms. The elevations of the building are decorated with band and corner dummy joints. The central part of the main, southern elevation is divided with rusticated trowel. The windows on the first floor are rectangular, on the second and third floors they are with semicircular tie plates. The level rods are in the form of a cornice, the principle cornice is made in the form of pendent rows, the profile is made in stucco. The roof is hipped, roofing is slate on the wooden rafters. The monument is done in the Electric style.
