4 Virmens'ka St.
It is
built as single-stage (8�9 m), oriented to the street by its butt-end. At the
end of the XVII century, it was one-storied, with semi-basement, covered with
hipped roof. At the beginning of the XVIII century, it was completed from the
north and extended almost twice. The dimensions became 17�9 m. In the XVIII-XIX
centuries, it was rebuilt and repaired.
It is rectangular in plan (17�9 m), plastered, with covered porch at the western
elevation. The walls of the basement were stone, of the first floor - brick.
The basement is two-chambered (6,5� �5,5 and 6,5�8,1 m), covered with a semicircular
vaults. Over the first floor the covering is flat on beams. The building is
divided into 3 parts by two cross walls in the plan of the first floor, the
middle wall is divided into four rooms of different size, the side one - into
two. The elevations are plastered. On the eastern elevation, partitioned by
window openings, there is a decor of the style of Classicism, that totally remained
at height of the principal cornice. There are steps to the first floor at the
western elevation. The roof is hipped and slate.
In this monument one can see the evolution of the Medieval architecture forms
in one of the ancient streets.
