Valy St.

It is a part of the city fortifications. It is situated between the Honcharna and Riznyts'ka Towers, on the edge of the slope, turning into the hanging rocks of the canyon. It was called after the name of the handicraft guild, that took care of its defensive ability. In the middle of the XVIII century, it was called the Metalwork Tower, in the 50's of the XX century it was called Riznyts'ka Tower.
The Tower is round in its plan, with diameter of 11 m. It is situated on a high, square in a plan platform, that may be seen only from the side of the canyon, where it makes a picturesque composition with the ledges of the rocks. The total height of three tiers of tower from the foundation of the platform is 12.5 m. The stone walls thickness in the level of the second tier is 1.7 m. There are 4 loopholes in the first tier, 7 - in the second, and 3 - in the third. The loopholes are of two types: with broadening inside the tower and in both directions sides. There is a heating system in the south-western wall of each tier. The coverings are on beams with leaning in the sockets of the walls (did not remain). The remains of the stone earthen walls are located southward and northward the Tower. In 1968, the conservation works were carried out in the Tower.
