The Building of the the State Bank, 1896-1901. Preservation #1670 | FotoIt was
built according to one of model projects. It is stone, on the stone foundation,
two-storied, with a basement and semi-basement. After the building was finished,
the works on taking aside the subsoil waters were continued for several years
(1904-1907).
The L-type in plan building is with risalites on the southern and eastern elevations.
The elevations are decorated with a rustication with an imitation of joints
of a brickwork and bullheads on the windows lintels. The windows are rectangular,
there are big windows with a semicircular tie plate and profiled window aprons
on the risalites on the second floor. The entrance in the southern elevation
is made in the form of the portal with Dorian columns, entablature and a triangular
pediment. There is a covered terrace on the poles with a balustrade near the
south-western entrance.
An internal planning is corridor with one- and two-sided arrangement of the
lodgements, in the centre of the first and second floors there are small and
large operational halls. The stairs are made in the eastern risalite. The floors
are wooden on beams. The roof is hipped with lukarns, the roofing is iron.
The monument is a tylical building of the period of the industrial rise, it
is done in the eclectic style, with typical planning, developed for bank buildings.
