Dwelling
House (Armenian), the XVI-XIX centuries. Preservation Number #1657 | Foto
  4 Hospital'na St.
 Primarily
its dimensions were 6.59.5 m, they correspond to the western part of the present
building. It had one overland storey and a spacious basement on two levels.
In 1620, near the south-eastern wall the other house of a similar size was built
on. In the second half of the XVII century, both houses were one-storeyed with
basements and span roofs. At the end of the XVII century, the house, which had
been built in 1620, was damaged in its south-western part. While restoring at
the end of the XVIII-beginning of the XIX century, both buildings were united
into one and were built on in the north-eastern direction; there was also a
  second brick storey built on.
A two-storeyed, right-angled in its plan, plastered, covered with a span iron
roof. The walls of the basement and of the first floor are stone, the walls
of the second floor are brick. The basements are covered with semicircular vaults.
The basement consists of 5 lodgements, 2 of which (south-western) belong to
the ancient houses. The ground floor is devided by one longitudinal and two
transverse walls on 7 lodgements, situating symmetrical reltively to the longitudinal
wall. The first floor doesn't connect with the ground floor in its plan.
On the north-western front the outdoor two-flights stairs on the first floor
were added. Under it there is one of the entrances to the basements, the other
one is in one of the lodgements of the eastern part of the house, the third
one is on the south-western front.
In the western basement of the house the white-stone potral with the arched
bulkhead and the inside stone stairs has remained. In the adjoining, south-western
basement under several layers of the late plaster the painting in the form of
the geometrized plant ornamental pattern in ochre-blue gamma was found. In the
interior of the ground floor two columns has remained, they belonged to the
small gallery of the house in 1620.
This monument is an example of early Armenian stone dwelling of the town and
demonstrates the character of its evolution.
